The protection of privacy in relation to personal data is the concern of every member of staff in the Environmental Protection Department (EPD). We respect personal data and are committed to fully implementing and complying with the data protection principles and all relevant provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
For different purposes and at different times user may be invited to provide personal data to the EPD on a voluntary basis. Personal information may include name, telephone number, mailing address or e-mail address. The EPD will specify the collection purpose and intended usage of user data when it invites user to provide such information and advises user on how to request to access to or correct the personal data provided.
Unless permitted or required by law, the EPD will not disclose user personal data to any third parties without user prior consent.
EPD uses SSL protocol to encrypt data during network transmission to protect user personal data. All personal data user provide to the EPD are secured, and access to them is restricted to authorised personnel only.
When user use EPD online form , cookies may be temporarily stored in user electronic device. These cookies often include an anonymous unique identifier used to identify a electronic device. However, they cannot be used to collect any personal information. In other words, they do not have the function of identifying an individual user.
User may choose to accept or reject the cookies. If user reject the cookies, user will not be able to use some of the functions of EPD online form.
